Leslie Seiters

Leslie Seiters (she/her) is a San Diego-based teacher, performer, and dancemaker. She holds a degree in visual art from Kenyon College, an MFA in Dance from The Ohio State University, and is a certified Feldenkrais practitioner. Since 2002, Leslie has directed Leslie Seiters/little known dance theater and has sustained a long-term collaborative practice with Rachael Lincoln. Her performance history is rooted primarily on the West Coast, including work with influential artists and companies such as Sara Shelton Mann, Jo Kreiter/Flyaway Productions, Scott Wells, Knee Jerk Project, Jess Curtis, BodyCartography Project, LIVEpractice, and Deborah Hay. Seiters has been a member of the Dance faculty at San Diego State University since 2005. Her creative and pedagogical practices emphasize experimentation and inquiry, seeking out projects that continuously invite her to rethink and reimagine her role as a dance artist. Her research is focused on what dance does, rather than what it means.
