Clean Air at OtB

In an effort to more closely align with our values around equity and access, we have created an exciting clean air program that benefits all of our everyone in our theater. This is specifically to create risk reduction and access for all, but especially for out vulnerable community members and those who love them.

Over the last two seasons, we prototyped a first-of-its-kind clean air program based on technology found at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos. In our past seasons, nearly every show in our prototyped accessible section sold out, and those in attendance represented a much more diverse audience across every demographic compared to our general audience.

So far, we are the only known theater in the country using this new technology.

With thanks to a grant from 4Culture, we are now offering permanent Aerolamp far-UVC technology at all of our shows, throughout the entire theater, safely and quietly cleaning the air. Far-UVC is a new and safe technology that clears the air by deactivating and destroying 99.9% of airborne pathogens at the speed of light.

We care a hell of a lot about equity and access, and clean air benefits everyone!

This helps artists, staff, and all audience members stay healthy, and keeps the risk where it belongs: on stage, in the art.

Masked seating is available at every show for those who prefer it.

Mask Required Section Audiences can expect:

  • Every night of every performance will have the back rows of our 300-seat theater blocked off as a mask-required section.

  • The accessible section can accommodate ~20 audience members, allowing more space between seats.

  • The theater offers 2 HVAC systems with MERV 13 filters, and Brisk Box portable filters will be placed throughout the designated section.

  • There is a separate, mobility device-accessible entrance for those who prefer to avoid our raucous lobby while accessing their seats.

  • There will be a mobility device-accessible bathroom available that is not used by the general public.
