Dear Friends,

Reflecting on this magical year at On the Boards, I am filled with a distinct HECK YES feeling. Each moment has been a testament to the magic of passion meeting purpose.

I felt the raucous and unique import of On the Boards as I watched drag queens on car lifts, sat in the dark with you while 4,000 stars twinkled, maybe got indoctrinated into the Peace is a House cult, met a singing rice cooker, and danced late into the night with giant inflatable gummy bears. At least three shows moved me to tears.

That’s what we do. At our core On the Boards supports artists (106 this year to be exact) and impacts our community (14,800 of you).

This is made possible by the magic you bring – and yes, sometimes that magic is in dollars. Please see our donation page if you would like to support further!

Thank you for being part of this magical journey. I am excited for the future we will create together.

The 23/24 season has been one of mission-focused rebuilding to ensure the future of of radical, boundary- pushing art in Seattle. On the Boards creates a space where artists and audiences take risks. Your gift supports behind-the-scenes work to make that risk taking sustainable. This season, your generosity also made possible:

  • Updated OtB.tv to create access to performances to audiences around the world.

  • Developed and published our commitment to DEI work.

  • Implementation of artist fees that meet or exceed NPN and W.A.G.E. standards.

  • Increased wages for staff.

  • Participation in the wider field through NPN, NDP, and Seattle Arts Commission.

On the Boards’ 2024/25 season is made possible with support from John C. Robinson & Maya Sonenberg.
