Tonya Lockyer

Named a “key cultural changemaker” (Seattle Times), Tonya Lockyer's groundbreaking work has been recognized by Arts International, Princeton University, Banff Center, Canada Council, TEDx, and City of Seattle. She works at the intersection of creative practice and systems strategy, applying performance and organizational dramaturgy to support artists, artistic projects and cultural initiatives.

Lockyer has performed and been presented throughout the US, Europe, Canada, Russia, and Turkey; curated for world-class festivals and art fairs; and creative-produced hundreds of cultural events. She was the transformative artistic executive director of Velocity Dance Center and serves on national review panels such as Creative Capital and United States Artists. Her writing is anthologized, and she is the author/editor of the book Artists on Creative Administration. Her ongoing somatic research informs her teaching across Dance, and Nonprofit and Arts Leadership at Seattle University.
