maia melene d’urfé is a dancer and choreographer in Seattle’s contemporary dance and House communities. They have danced and presented their work in Mexico City, Almada Portugal, New York City, Colorado, New Mexico, North Carolina, and Washington. In Seattle, they have danced with Undercurrent, zoe | juniper, Beth Twigs, and others, and been presented by Velocity Dance Center, Amy O’Neal, eXit Space, SIDF, and their own independent productions. They find their voice through quality of movement, language through physical facility, and flow through melody and rhythm as an investigation of the human condition and how we respond to change within the self, our relationships, and wider culture.
