Hannah Simmons

Hannah Simmons is a multi-disciplinary performer, creator, and educator based in Seattle, WA. She builds participatory art experiences (installation, sculpture, audio) that are informed by her history as a dancer and performer. Her recent work has been supported by Base’s Residency Program, Velocity Dance Center, 4Culture, Jack Straw Cultural Center, and is a current resident artist at Actualize AiR. As a performer, she has oscillated between highly experimental contemporary works, performance art, classical ballet, opera, and burlesque, including recent projects with Peggy Piaceza, Seattle Opera, Seattle Symphony, Verlaine + McCann. As an educator, she is an instructor at Cornish College of the Arts and runs a community class series called Ballet Rituals. She holds a B.A. from Bennington College in dance and mathematics.
